Research conducted by a team of academics from Loughborough University has helped shape mental health charity Mind’s work in the physical activity sector.

The team, led by Dr Florence Kinnafick, from the University’s School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, has published recommendations on how those in the sector can continue to be successful with Mind’s support.

 The recommendations included:

·        Involving people with experience of mental health problems in the design, development, and delivery of projects

·        Mental health being embedded across all work and activities

·        Individuals within organisations to act as the contact point and consider including the work around mental health as part of specific job descriptions

·        Promoting examples of good practice.
