Moving Medicine launches physical activity resources on Anxiety, Type 1 Diabetes, Obesity, and Menopause

Source: Basem.co.uk    28th November 2022

Moving Medicine this week launched four new resources designed to help healthcare professionals have better conversations about physical activity with people suffering from anxiety, people with type 1 diabetes, people who are obese, and people experiencing menopause.

The free online consultation guides cover the main benefits of physical activity, as well as addressing common barriers that healthcare professionals encounter when talking to people about becoming more active and offering support and ideas on how to navigate them.

Moving Medicine is an initiative from the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK (FSEM UK), developed in partnership with the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, National Lottery and Sport England alongside other partners. Moving Medicine resources are built in an award-winning behavioural change framework and contain conversation guides – ranging from one, five and more minutes – that can be used by healthcare professionals to provide clear and consistent messaging about the benefits of physical activity.
